Meet Our Staff
Shelly — Office Manager
Shelly was born and raised in Napa, CA. She and her husband, Bill, (who was raised in Chico) moved to the Chico area ten years ago. Their two grown children, William and Allison, soon followed. Shelly has been involved in dentistry for more than 20 years. She enjoys talking with the patients and learning about what is going on in their lives. She and Bill have a huge, year round vegetable garden. She has several flower gardens, where she loves spending her time on the weekends. From the early spring through the fall months, she enjoys making fresh flower arrangements for the office. Community Theater has been a passion for Shelly for many years. She has been in numerous musical productions and has had several leading roles. She and her sister, Cindy, have a band called the “Classic Sisters.” They have been performing their 40’s music at the Sonoma County Fair for over 26 years. Shelly currently sings in her church choir and is very active in her local community. Over the past several years, Shelly has done extensive research on her family history, dating back to before the Revolutionary War. She then created books for each side of her family tree. Shelly is proud to say that she is the First Vice Regent of the Chico Chapter of the Daughters of The American Revolution.
Haley — Registered Dental Hygienist
Haley is a native of Redding, CA. She graduated from the Shasta Dental Hygiene Program. She attends continuing education classes on a regular basis and has completed extensive training using laser technology. Currently, Haley is enrolled in a Masters Program, taking classes after work five days a week. Haley enjoys many activities, outside of the office, but probably none more than her family, including her parents, two older brothers, aunts, uncles and cousins. Haley’s nieces and nephews are the love of her life and I expect they feel the same way about their “Auntie Hay.” On her days off, Haley enjoys Palates and going shopping! She is usually accompanied by her dogs Ginger and Dixie, who are full of personality, like their master. Haley is an excellent cook, as well; inventing new gourmet recipes often. One of Haley’s patients recently commented, “If you have to have your teeth cleaned, at least it should be entertaining.” Her upbeat and fun personality, combined with her exceptional knowledge of oral hygiene, keep her patients coming back to her, again and again.
Kendall — Registered Dental Assistant
Kendall is Dr. Truhe’s Lead Assistant; she’s been working with us since spring 2012. She was born and raised in Chico where she graduated from Pleasant Valley High School and received her AA Degree from Butte College. With her interest in athletics, Kendall coached youth basketball camps for six years during high school and college. Kendall currently coaches basketball by volunteering her time as an AAU coach. She has a younger brother and an older half brother. Her hobbies include basketball, playing throughout high school and college, working out, shopping and traveling. She plans to travel to Hawaii and eventually reach her goal of a trip to Japan.
Many years ago a family friend who remembered Kendall’s interest in dentistry at a young age, recommended she look into the Butte County ROP Assisting Program. Since receiving her dental assisting license Kendall has continued her education, taking classes whenever possible.
Nellie — Registered Dental Assistant
Nellie is one of Dr. Truhe’s Registered Dental Assistants. She came to our office in July of 2014. Born and raised in Chico, Nellie attended Chico schools prior to her training in Dentistry. She has both Orthodontic and General office experience.
When not assisting Dr. Truhe, Nellie and her husband, Matt, enjoy attending Giant’s games, walks in Bidwell Park and attending summer concerts. They have a daughter, Dillan, who was born in August of 2013 and are currently awaiting the arrival of the newest member of the family, this December. Nellie and Matt enjoy home improvement projects and have just finished an extensive kitchen remodel. Just ask Nellie about her new pantry!
